Jesus A. Peña, Esq., is an alumnus
of Rutgers University and the Rutgers University School of
Law. He is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, Florida,
District of Columbia, and Pennsylvania. Upon graduating from
law school and while a resident of New Jersey, he served as
a law clerk to a Superior Court Judge, a Prosecutor for four
(4) years, and was in private practice for nine (9) years.
Upon relocating to Pennsylvania in 2000, as a member of the
Mayor’s Cabinet, Mr. Peña served as the Director of Human
Resources for the City of Reading, the fourth largest
municipality in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Subsequent
to the City of Reading, Mr. Peña proceeded to the state’s
capitol to serve in a Cabinet level position to the
Secretary of State of Pennsylvania as the Secretary’s
Director of Communications and Press.
Currently, Mr. Peña is working in Higher Education as an
administrator in one of the 14 state-owned universities
within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
While also serving on the President’s Cabinet, Mr. Peña is
the university’s Director of Social Equity, working in the
areas of law, human resources, diversity, and social equity.
As a fellow Greek, he was inducted into the Lambda Theta Phi
Latin Fraternity in the Spring of 1982. Within his
organization, Mr. Peña has held numerous leadership
positions including, but not limited to, 1991 National
President, 1996-2000 National Director of Expansion, and
Founder of the Lambda Theta Phi Educational Foundation. In
addition, Mr. Peña has authored a Lambda Theta Phi
children's book, as well as the first and second editions of
the fraternity’s history.
As an active member of the Greek community, he has lectured
to members of fraternities and sororities throughout the
country on topics ranging from hazing and risk management,
to organizational and communication skills, to recruitment
and community involvement. His presentations to Greeks and
non-Greeks, students and graduates, have also covered
leadership and professional development, identity, and
diversity-related topics.
In his professional capacity, Mr. Peña has presented on
affirmative action and the law and sexual harassment.
Furthermore, Mr. Peña has offered training in the areas of
equal employment and educational opportunities.

vast and diverse professional experience, Mr. Peña’s
